Not even the wet weather last Thursday (16th June) could dampen our high spirits as we cycled to Carlingford, enjoyed an ice-cream, returned to Omeath and had a tasty lunch in The Granvue – Yum! A Theatre from Westminster visited our school yesterday (Monday 30th May). It was BRILLIANT! Look at the fun we had AND we learned all about The Great Wall of China! We weren’t even a little bit scared of the BIG dragon!

Can you believe it’s term 3 already?
We’ve a very busy term ahead! The boys & girls of Rang a 5 & 6 were in Dublin today at a workshop at the Government Buildings of Irish Aid. See the photos below. The boys & girls looked great in their kanzu dresses and showed great talent on the drums!

What a HUGE success… Thanks to all who made it happen and turned out on the day (& all week from Sunday 24th in Roscommon)! Thanks to our Parents Association, Táin March organisers, pupils,staff & parents of SN Lorcan, pupils, staff & parents of our school, The Granvue for allowing us to set up our feast and shelter from the rain, Sharon for sharing her expertise, the whole community of Omeath, all our generous sponsors, 27th Army Battalion, Dundalk & the wider communities of County Louth, Irish TV producers across Ireland… too many people to name…

The TÁIN MARCH started this weekend in Roscommon! Our walking ‘warriors’ couldn’t wait to get started! There is still plenty of time to join in on any of the nine days as we would be delighted of more volunteers… just contact Jim at 087-7930643.

Judging of our new Tree-Tribe garden in Omeath playground took place today (Mon.27th) Our young Tree-Tribe in collaboration with Omeath Tidy-Towns were a credit to co-ordinating teacher Ms.McKevitt. Well done boys and girls! Thanks also to members of the community – Marie McGuinness, Seán McGuinness (past pupil) Clare O’Hagan (Tidy-Towns), Jennifer & Jude Quinn, Anthony, Brian (Tidy-Towns) Jim Fearon, Jolene & Jeff Lin and all others who gave of their time so generously to make our ‘Wishing Orchard’ such a beautiful place.
WOW, WOW, WOW… We have just received notification of our 3rd Green Flag on Water Conservation. We are delighted for our school and dedicated Green-Schools committee.
What fun we had on Wednesday when we celebrated World Book Day dressed as different Book Characters. Thanks for supporting our Book Fair – we had a super response.

Well done to Molly Ní Shúilleabhain whose beautiful artwork was chosen out of hundreds of entries in the Navan Education centre’s W.B. Yeats Commemoration Event. Molly will represent our school at a presentation in April.
Well done also to Tiarnan Collins-Knight and Philip McGovern who wrote poems entitled ‘Into the Future’ for ‘Write-a-Poem 2015’. Their wonderful poems will be published in a book and launched in Navan Education Centre in May. Comhghairdeas libh go léir!

The pupils of Scoil Naomh Bríd have been working very hard to put together Christmas gifts in shoe-boxes for Team Hope, for children who are not as fortunate as themselves in Africa and Eastern Europe. Well done boys & girls!
We are very proud of our girls 9-a-side team who succeeded to reach the final of Corn Choláiste Bhríde on Sat.18th October in Knockbridge and were narrowly defeated by Monksland N.S. Well done cailíní!
We are very proud of our pupils, Colm, Calum, Manus, Patrick, Jacob & David, and also our past pupils, who won the Division 3B League Final in Darver on Saturday against Clann na Gael.
